In our Ask Me Anything Session, together with Certified Financial Planner Rebecca Bradshaw Palmer, we dive into a dynamic discussion on navigating our finances around an unstable administration, investment insights and retirement planning.

In this session, we discussed:

10:11 - I'm sure I'm not the only one freaking out about a possible coup of our government financial system/data at the moment (yikes!). Are there any recommended next steps we should take to protect ourselves financially?

12: 54 - What should I actually do if I get laid off? Or if I’m ready to leave a job that no longer aligns with my values? What are the moves to make before the panic sets in?

23:11 - With all the robo-advisors, boutique firms, and big banks out there, how do you know if you should go full DIY or bring in the pros? What actually makes financial planning worth paying for, and how do you figure out what’s the best fit for you?

35:43 - So my financial advisor recommends a tax free short term bond fund for my “emergency expenses” savings account. Your thoughts?

43:27 - I have yet to open a roth IRA but this is my year to do so!

  • I know that opening a roth account doesn't automatically start growing. Someone said that the roth account is like a wallet and it's how you set up investing what's in that wallet that helps it grow. This feels scary to me because I don't quite know what to invest in.

  • Can you breakdown what safe, diversified plan for investing could look like? For example what percentage would you recommend go into a safer investment like S&P 500 index fund vs a more volatile form of investment?

53:46 - What are examples of progressive ways you’re seeing people activating their wealth? For example:

  • How are people affording to contribute to mutual aid?

  • Are there charitable tax strategies that we should know about?

  • How are people funding things like micro grants?

  • How do you even budget or know how much you can afford to set aside for things like charity?

This session provided a wealth of knowledge and motivation to take actionable steps toward financial empowerment! 🚀
